The Board of Directors of Medical Center of the Americas Foundation has named Mylena Walker, Director of Technical Services at Cardinal Health, as the new MCA Board Chair and Ted Houghton, Founder of Houghton Financial, as the new MCA Vice Chair.

Mylena Walker has served as Director of Technical Services of Cardinal Health for the last 5 years. Mylena is an accomplished professional with more than 20 years of experience at Cardinal Health in both marketing and manufacturing. She has served on the MCA Foundation Board since 2018 as Governance Chair and then as Vice Chair. Walker earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University and Master of Business Administration in Marketing & Finance from DePaul University.

Ted Houghton is the founding partner of Houghton Financial, which he launched in 1975. Ted has served on the MCA Holdings & Foundations Boards since 2014. Houghton served as chair of the Texas Transportation Commission, an appointment by Gov. Rick Perry. Ted also served on the boards of El Paso Water Utilities, El Paso’s Rapid Transit Board, El Paso Electric, the School Land Board, The Sun Bowl Association, and the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Committee.

The MCA Board also elected two new members to serve on the board. They are Kimberly Kot, Senior Medical Writer for Stryker, and Jesica Urbina, Ph.D., founder and CEO of Infinite Elements.
