STARTUP Lab: Corporate Formation (Webinar)

This session of STARTUP Labs will be hosted through the webinar platform GoToMeeting. Upon purchase of a ticket, you will be provided a link to sign up for the webinar viewing. When clicking through to the link, the website will prompt you to download the GoToMeeting desktop app software. You can go ahead and do so to participate in the webinar or you can opt to call in through the phone number instead provided through email upon webinar registration. This session reviews options for the legal structure of your startup and provides a technical explanation for how a startup is structured. It will explain why a startup's legal structure is critical for growth and will cover the importance of Intellectual Property (IP) ownership for startups. Topics to be covered include:

This class will be taught by Erik Pavia, Entrepreneur in Residence at the Medical Center of the Americas Foundation. Erik has a BBA from UT El Paso and a law degree from Stanford University. He is the founder of Pantheon and an adjunct professor at UTEP where he teaches a business law course focused on new tech ventures.
