The lifetime prevalence of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder among Americans is almost 10% and even higher among veterans. El Pasoans have been exposed to their share of events such as the August 3, 2019, Walmart shooting, the COVID-19 pandemic, and experiences unique to being a border town and host to a large military base. El Paso is also home to more than 50,000 veterans who have a high incidence of experiences that lead to PTSD. Most of these El Pasoans experiencing symptoms of PTSD are employed in our local businesses yet employers, co-workers, and friends do not possess the tools nor education to assist them. This webinar will feature a panel consisting of experts on PTSD who will help us all to understand the underlying challenges faced by those who continue to cope with myriad traumatic experiences affecting their lives and productivity in the workplace.
Jeanette James, Clinic Director of Endeavors El Paso Clinic is a subject matter expert in assisting Military Families, Veterans, and their Families with mental health care. Author of "Face the Fence" and fellow El Pasoan, Philip Lee will talk about experiences with PTSD.
