Carlos Ortega is the Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Center of the Americas (MCA) Foundation. He is responsible for the management of the Economic Development Impact Funds earmarked to the MCA Foundation by the City of El Paso. He is responsible for helping guide the MCA Foundation as it grows and expands its operations. He reports directly to the president of the MCA Foundation and its board of directors.

Ortega brings more than 35 years of financial and administrative executive experience at the local (Azar Nut Company), national (KPMG) and international (Bortec Inc. and Axxion Group Corp.) levels for both startup and mature companies.

He is a certified public accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and its El Paso Chapter. He holds a BBA in accounting from the University of Notre Dame.
