MCA Poster Session Returns to Showcase Regional Health Science Research

The Medical Center of the Americas Foundation (MCA) and the Melinda and Meyer Marcus Foundation Innovation Center are excited to announce the return of the Annual MCA Poster Session. On Thursday May 2, regional scholars, students, professors, inventors, and other academics will present their remarkable research to the community and potential collaborators. The poster session will be held at the Cardwell Collaborative, in the large first-floor conference room and 3rd floor incubator from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Annual MCA Poster Session serves as a platform for the community to gain insights into the impactful health science research unfolding across the region. It is a celebration of innovation, knowledge, and the diverse intellectual community that defines our region. “We are thrilled to once again provide this platform for our local innovators to showcase their work,” said Nancy Lowery, Senior Director of Innovation. “Beyond providing a space for networking, our goal is to cultivate meaningful connections that can evolve into collaborative research, unlocking doors to potential commercialization opportunities.”

This year’s Poster Session will feature 37 posters from leading institutions such as the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso and The University of Texas at El Paso. The event promises an enriching experience, featuring distinguished speakers, engaging networking opportunities, and insightful presentations throughout the evening. The selected posters will be on display for an extended three-month period, offering the public a unique opportunity to actively engage with ongoing research endeavors within the region. The aim is to create an inclusive space that encourages the free flow of ideas and expertise, contributing to the advancement of collaborative initiatives and the distribution of valuable insights.

The Poster Session is a key initiative of the Innovation Center to catalyze growth in our region’s health tech economy. By fostering an environment for connections and collaboration it allows researchers to explore opportunities to commercialize their innovative ideas.
